ive been trying to work out which part of the window is letting air into the car when im driving, it is only slight, but as im in the car alot its very noticeable and driving me crazy.
are the window sill rubbers easy to replace?
or can i try and pull the old one up more to the original position?
if not where can i get new ones for it?
just to clear things up, im talking about the part on the inside if the window with what looks like felt on it
any help is much appreciated :-)
At the top of the door trim? They're called belt moulds.
Usually the felt part which has fallen off is still inside the door. Even if it not, I have got them for free from a wrecker. (Note that they have slightly different end shapes on them so are not really interchangeable from left to right but it's only subtle so doesn't matter too much if you can't get the correct ones.) They can be reglued onto the bit that clips over the top of the door with an epoxy adhesive (eg. 5 min. Araldite).
Glue them with the belt moulds off the car using masking tape - reversed and stuck back on itself to avoid sticking to the felt - to hold the rubber in place. Some adjustment may be required as the adhesive is setting until it gels sufficiently to hold in place.
