insurance Question help please

hay all i have pruchased a $500 vn commodore and wondering, can i have only ctp greenslip with my rego or is it also compulsory to have some kind of third party property damage insurance, only reason im asking is got quoted the cheapest $750 for thirdparty cars not worth that, just wondering if its legal driving around with a valid rego and only ctp greenslip.

Depends what state ya in I know nsw ya have to have atleast 3rd party to get rego but vic and sa ya dont have to have any insurance but ya better of gettin atleast 3rd party as it might only be a 500 doller shitta but what about the other car ya could hit ?

Thats not true, NSW all you need is CTP.

it might have changed but afaik 3rd party=ctp grenslip, needed for insurance.. 3rd party property covers u for damage to whatever u hit

Dont ya have to have a min of 3rd party not the one thats on ya rego in nsw ? Im pretty sure thats how it was whan my misses had her car rego in nsw as it cost a grand a year to get all the crap it needed.
