    Default Cluster

    Hey Guys,

Ive got a level 1 cluster and want to upgrade to level 2 coz i want a tacho. is the wiring any different or can i just slip it straight in?

and correct me if im wrong but:

Level 1 cluster is just fuel, speedo, and temp

Level 2 is fuel, temp, speedo and tacho

Level 3 is like level 2 but has those 3 displays at the bottom

Also, my odo stopped working. onnce i slip in a new one, will the km's be updated or do i need to wind it manually??

You wont need to change any wires going from L1 to L2. The lost K's are lost.

Level 3 is a bit more involved and needs a switch block and patch loom to make it work properly.

Shane helped me out with doing mine, defs worth it now - I love my new one.

I was thinking, is there anything stopping you from manually winding the odometer forward/back to match your original cluster when you upgrade? Or does manually winding it stuff the board or something? I was thinking of matching my new dash to show what the original km's would be...

i think you can either goto holden and get them to wind the dash (not sure) but you need to prove it, or somewhere else (but people might ask you to sign a liability waiver)
I changed mine over to level 2 last week from a VN, the hard way, but yep, all just bolts in and now works perfectly. I didnt bother winding it because the new cluster was only 7000ks less

yeah the voltage reg fixed it up really well, thanks for the help with it. With mine, the difference in KMs was only like 6000 so I'll probably leave it as is
