    Default vn manifold question????

I read somewhere the other day that if you put a series one standard exhaust manifold onto a series 2 engine you get better low down torque and mid range over the standard series 2 exhaust manifold.... Has anyone else heard this, or even better have actual experience with this? If its true ill be keen to give it a try on my little dragger at the next drag meet to see how it goes.

I reckon you would be right the series one exhaust manifold are mild steel I think and series 2 onwards are cast iron and prone to crack, the series one ones look like extractors and look like they would flow better, before chasing up a set have a look around you should be able to find no name extractors for next to nothing, pacemakers ect are still worth 200+
    Cheers

Would not bother with a series 1 exhaust manifold, Looks like shit and I cant imagine it flowing very well.... (since the gas's from the front and back cylinders face each other)

I think i remember greenfoam saying a while ago that the s2+ are a much better manifold for flow

Yea my thought was series 2 manifold would flow better, I saw some bloke advertising a standard series one manifold on ebay saying that it was prooven in street commodores that they create more low down torque and mid range on a series 2 engine than the series 2 manifold so thought i might as well ask around to see if anyone else has heard that. Considering I can get some ugly series one manifolds for nothing I thought why not ask, if a few people have heard the same thing I might chuck them on for a bit of a experiment. But I remain quite sceptical on this one lol, like you said, the front and back pipe face each other before been pointed backwards into the pipe anyway :P
