Kinda first car, VN aero : )

Its kinda my first car because my previous first car (VN commodore) got destroyed by hail before i could drive it :\

Car: Holden VN Series 1 Executive
Current Mods:
body: Aero front/rear bumpers, Areo garnish, Aero Skirts/door thingys and Letterbox grill.
Wheels: 19inch Advanti's.
Interior: Boss kit with sports steering wheel, Calais front and rear seats, Black roof lining, black custom hand brake boot with red stitching, black vinyl door inserts, 7x10 Kenwoods R speakers with 6inch pioneers upfront with splitters.
Parts that are not on the car yet
Tuned 3.8 V6 with custom ECU, extractors, 3 inch stainless steel exhaust, King springs (lowered two inches), LSD.
Future Mods
Respray, shaved boot lid keyhole, Head unit, Subs, Retinted windows.

Both the commodores are still half apart but before these holidays end, this car will be done! : )

It was going to go purple but i really cbf'd painting the inside of the doors and whatnot, So its looking like a red with orange pearl and metalflake? or something around that :P

Damn Hail, must have been fairly dinted.
How's the condition of the paint a good cut and polish may do it wonders, and save you coin. Otherwise I'd stick with something similar to what it already is

Looks good mannn, yeah i'd get stuck right into it. Go a whole different colour. Not that hard. Just takes alot of patience and A few months work depending on your money/work sitch.. Love the aeros. BUt yeah spend a bit more time on it, i think you'll be really happy with the result. haha yeah a Nice Purple or Cherry black.. would looks sweet as titties. Silver would be nice as well. Good luck with it all man.

haha that was the plan but now that I am starting to do shit on it, Im realising i don't have that much time before this car needs to be put on the road, roughly 2 months D:

How much did you pick it up for?

Picked it up completely stock (interior wise) with the kit and 16's for $450, no reg/rwc. With that said I was only planing to use this car for the shell, which I still am : P

Haha yeah, We got hit fairly hard!
I have a uncle who is going to help me paint it cause he is good with body work so money isn't too much of a issue, its just having somewhere to do it all :\
The paint is good accept one door, it's just the body kit which is all scratched and needs the most attention. I'm still thinking a brighter red with orangeish pearl : )

Pulled the motor out of her, had a bit of a look underneith.
Looking really good, everything seems perfect.
Only problem is the immobiliser and engine loom.
So motor and trans sold, the cars gonna get a quick tidy up before I put the motor out of my donor car (the hail taken one)
This it reving lightly : )

Its smokey as i know, but that was the first time it ran in about 6 months, turned the key and it started first shot.

Okay so the car in the video above is now completely dismantled and the parts are going to be going into the Aero shell next week!
Parts include:
Engine
Trans (auto)
drive shaft
LSD
Master brakes
Pacemaker Extractors
3 inch stainless steel Redback exhaust
Wiring loom+ Chip ; )
and then the 19 inch advanti's!

Big project but should be okay!

Also, I'm on the look out for some door trims, grey, with window winders. Must be good condition. Inbox if you can help!


Roof lining has also been done in black. Came out much better than expected. Hopefully she holds!

Looks good... Im about to do a similar swap (two VN's one with a motor that has 65k genuine k's on it)

would love to see some more pics

hint: I used to make/fix body kits get some supaglue onto the cracks in the body kit and it should stay together.. until you get some time to glass it..

If It was an original aero I would restore it to its original state but cause its only a mock up I like doing what I want to it, make it more unique.

Exhaust, Diff, rear springs and shocks all back in along with the master brake cylinder.
Next job is the front end!

Okay so motor is now in!
I just bolted everything in including the drive shaft and wiring loom.
Just need to give the motor a service and hopefully get her running.

In other news, I passed my hazards yesterday and have my licence booked in for my birthday!

... and who thinks this car is phoenix red? I'm thinking it'll be easier to get another phoenix red drivers door instead of repainting it.
and with that said where is a good place CHEAP place in melbourne to respray the front grill, bumper, rear bumper and side skirt?
