    Default New ACC power

    Hi

As im putting on a lot of accessories (another cig lighter, bluetooth, CB, etc...), Im just wondering the easiest way to run another ACC power line, so the stuffs turn off once the car is off.

Car is a VP commodore sedan

Going to have the new line to a small dizzy block

Im thinking running a relay, Having 85&86 inline with the current ciggy power line, and 87&30 on the new acc line, with one side to battery positive and the other side to the dizzy block.

For the accessories negatives, i was going to ground them on one screw with ring terminals.

Is this an OK way to do it?

Yep find a trigger wire from the ignition barrel and run relays.
Best to take the power for Relays straight off the battery terminals and make sure all your earths are good.
Use propper size wire for the accesories you wish to use, not some thin crap.

GenReap, I owe you a beer, for being the first person to ever answer a question posted in this section

Why trigger wire off the ignition barrel and not off something that already has been triggered (such as the power line to the existing ciggy lighter, Not radio as it uses constant power & a trigger for the clock) and do it that way?

Run power and earth wires directly from the battery (less voltage drop this way). For switching (via a relay) use the power wire that goes to the cig lighter. Each time you activate ACC then your relay will also activate providing you with power at your outlet.
