Hey guys my fuel pump shat itself the sarvo( Was in the bottleo of all places), in the process of playing around with the car i noticed when i crank it over it seems the tensioner pulley is getting stuck then letting go making a loud bang.
Any ideas what maybe causing this?
Cheers guys,
Daniel.
Yep, your tensioner spring is cactus pull the belt off and turn all the pulley's by hand to make sure none are seized. draw a diagram of how the belt runs before you remove it first. by another tensioner as they should only have minor movement at start up
Thanks mate.![]()
Do i need to take the power steering pump off to get to get the whole assembly off?
Cheeers,
Daniel.

Also anyone know if the metal water pipe that comes from behind the water pump needs to come off to?
Cheers

DONE!
But i used one off a old motor i have and the spring is ####ed it that one too. Ohwell i learnt how to do.
looks like its the harmonic balancer. Any tips on removing the old balancer?
Having performed such removal several times - on a VN, I can tell you that if the Crankshaft Pulley (Harmonic Balancer) has never previously been removed, you could be in for a tough job. The retaining bolt for this pulley is torqued up to 325Nm (that's a lot) and without the correct technique you could end up suffering a lot of skinned knuckles, bent/damaged tools or at worse, damage to the retaining bolt. The main problem in trying to undo the nut is to stop the engine from turning over. I tried all hand tools that I could muster and even a very high pressure air driven torque wrench, all without success. Finally, with the correct size socket and a long extension bar, place the end of the bar below the chassis rail (you'll have to wortk out which way the engine rotates) and with someone holding it in place (keep fingers and hands well away from the end of the bar) turn the key (I also suggest that you remove the coil leads to stop the engine actually firing - remember to label where each lead came from to from in order to facilitatye easy re-connection) and have the starter motor apply torque to the engine. When the end of the extension bar rotates and 'collides' with the underside of the chassis rail it should then apply enough kinetic energy to the socket causing the connection of the reatining bolt to break free. You might have to do this several times. If successful, you should then be able to undo the bolt by hand. Good luck. Don't forget to torque the bolt correctly when replacing it otherwise you could cause more damage than you may care to think about. Good luck.

Thats awesome thanks heaps, Il have a crack at it after xmas.
easy as when u put a decent knuckle bar and socket on it and lever against the ground and crank it over as said above, but be careful and make sure you r putting it on in the right direction
is the bolt left hand thread?
