Hi all,
I know i will probably get laughed at but i want to convert my 1991 manual gearbox v6 vn (lexen) back to auto.
I understand that the lexen in this year did not come in manual,so someone has converted it at some time.
Can someone please tell me how much work is involved, what gearbox would i require, and any other info.
I did see the thread about changing auto to manual in the "how to" section.
It looks very detailed and i would need something like this as i am no mechanic but like to know what i am talking about when i go to get a price from mechanic to do the work (unless anyone here fancies a BBQ Lunch and all the beer you can carry home lol).
thanks in advance.
Anyone ever done this?
pretty simple mate
You'll need all the associated auto parts
shifter
floor plate
auto loom (gearbox into main loom)
Auto box
auto tsialshaft
auto gearbox mount
flexplate
torque convertor
auto flexplate bolts
Remove all manual crap install auto crap
fews thing to watch for are
spigot bush in crank you need to remove this as autos dont use one
when installing gearbox make sure you line up the torque convertorslots to auto pump. best thing to do is put the torrque convertor on box first then install and using the inspection hole aling torque convertor bolt holes to flexplate and in stall bols
