VN series 1 sump problem need help!

hi guys i need a new sump for my vn and i have a mate that has an ecotec out of a vs at home will his sump and oil pickup fit in my motor?

Actually, I believe that the Ecotec sump will bolt up but they are not directly interchangeable. The dipstick is in the sump for the VN and in the engine block on the Ecotec for a start.

Some VN's also have a fairly large cast cover plate on the bottom of the bell housing and this is bolted to the bottom of th eengine via 6 studs that are also used to hold the sump on. You'd need to check the clearance of an Ecotech sump to this bracket as well and alsl maybe the cross member in general but if you use say a VS sump it would probably at least clear the cross member.
