Take the auto of the engine take the flywheel off and you will see the seal get anything small that's suitable and work on it tryin to remove it and tap a new one in making sure to grease the inside of the seal so it doesn't run dry on the crank, I used a quarter inch ratchet extension bar to gently tap mine in making sure to get it in as straight and flush as possible and making sure the seal is flush with the engine block and crank, ifs it's a series 1 it has a wick seal that are more complicated and I havnt done one.
ok cheers man but yer its a s1 engine

It will have a 'wick' seal like a 5litre then, I have never done one but I am pretty sure the sump has to come off and the rear big end main cap to get to the seal, I wouldn't bother man unless it's leaking real bad, cheers
REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL
To Remove and Instal
To renew the rear crankshaft oil seal it is necesŽsary to remove the engine from the vehicle and remove the crankshaft. This procedure is described under the heading Crankshaft and Bearings.
It is possible to repair a leaking rear crankshaft oil seal without removing the engine as described under the following heading.
To Repack Oil Seal
(1) Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
(2) Remove the sump from the engine as preŽviously described.
(3) Remove the rear main bearing cap bolts and tap the cap with a soft faced hammer to break the sealing compound. Instal a slide hammer into the sump bolt holes and remove the main bearing cap.
(4) Using a suitable tool gently drive the oil seal rope into the groove in the cylinder block until it is tightly packed. The amount the seal can be compacted will vary between 6-9 mm. Repeat this operation on the other end of the seal.
(5) Remove the oil seal from the rear main bearing cap. Thoroughly clean and dry the oil seal groove and remove all traces of sealant from the channels on each side of the bearing cap.
(6) Measure the depth that each side of the seal has been compacted in operation (4) and add 2.0 mm.
(7) Cut two lengths of seal to the dimensions calculated in operation (6), from the old seal removed from the main bearing cap.

(8) Instal the appropriate lengths of seal into the oil seal grooves in the cylinder block and compact them until the ends are flush with the cylinder block. If necessary, soften the rope seal with oil to aid installation. Trim the ends to ensure that no fibres or strands are protruding in the joint face.
(9) Remove the rear main bearing shell and apply an adhesive such as BOSTIK 7434 to the inside of the oil seal groove.
(10) Place a new seal into the oil seal groove and press firmly into place. Use a hammer handle or other round smooth object in a rolling motion to ensure that the seal is tightly packed in the groove.
(11) Use a razor blade or similar and trim the excess seal flush with the bearing cap mating face. Firmly hold the oil seal in place when trimming the seal ends.
(12) Apply a light film of Loctite 515 Gasket Eliminator to the main bearing cap mating face, instal the bearing shell and lubricate the bearing shell and the crankshaft journal with clean engine oil.
(13) Instal the rear main bearing cap and tighten the bolts finger tight. Tap the bearing cap into position using a soft faced hammer and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
(14) Inject RTV 1080 sealant into the rear main bearing cap side channels until the sealant begins to extrude from the joint gaps.
(15) Instal the sump to the engine as previously described.
this really does seam like a head f*** is it even worth it really
