VR SS Drop Tank Into VP

Hey all

got me a VR SS drop tank, straps and little stone guard.

Its got an in tank pump

How should i go about installing this?

Should i replace some lines while im there?

Do i need to replace the pump?

If it's an in tank high pressure pump and not just a priming pump then you won't need to change it. If it's a priming pump you may be able to fit a high pressure pump with some mods to the pickup or you may need to get an ou tof tank high pressure pump.
You may also need to look at your breathers as from memory VN's have 3 on the top and VR/VS has only 2 bu tI am not 100% sure on this I am only going by what I saw in a wreckers a while ago when I was after a tank for my VN.

How do i know if it is a high pressure?

the high pressure pump is longer and there is a pulsator which I don't think the priming pumps have.

OK, Ill take a look, I tried to get the pump out, got it about half out, gave up and tried to put it back, But it wont sit flush now?

Yoiu may have got the fuel gauge float caught up in the hole in the fuel tank. You have to wiggle the assembly a bit and take the float out first. What's happened when you have put it back is that it's not sitting ion the swirl pot properly and you have to kind of rotate it while your refitting it, it's been ages so I can't remember which way
