Default LPG Removal from 5 Litre VQ

Hi, my VQ Statesman has LPG, which I would like to remove or get removed. Does anybody know of a LPG Specialist around Adelaide, or a mechanic or business who could professionally remove my entire LPG System? It's barely any better for fuel costs, so why have it? And the power loss is extremely high. Please help. Any help will be very muchly appreciated. :-)

you can do it yourself, i did. every LPG tank has an emergency cut off valve on the tank itself so there should be no problem with gas escaping if you do it properly. the ones i had were cut of by a screw tap, shut it off and all the lines can be removed. when u release the line u will just get a short hiss which is just the residual gas in the line

I'd also suggest to disconnect all the spliced in lpg wiring too, as it caused problems for me recently... 8 months down the track

I dont suggest doing it yourself at all, The lpg shut off valve is only from the tank to the mixer not from the filler point to the tank (at least on my duel fuel vn v6.) so if you were to undo the filler line to the tank the gas thats i the tank will escape, Depending on how much gas in the tank it could quite easily turn into a bomb.

No it wont, the filler line has an internal 1 way valve.

Regardless of what 'the experts' have to say, I suggest that you consult with an Auto LPG INstaller - any installer. The potential for things to go wrong is just too great. Check the Yellow Pages or try Google. There's hepas of such installers in and around Adelaide.

Actually yes you will as you will have to remove that filler line to take the tank out. The one way valve is the LPG connection itself that you screw the hose on to fill it up with.

Well, I've removed heaps of gas tanks for re-test and no gas has ever come out of the filler line. Also, I've watched the guy re-test 1 on site and they have a 1 way valve on the filler line (inside the tank)...

Ok, all sounds well and good but I can assure you I am not doing it myself. Not confident enough to stuff around with LPG. No particular workshops in mind with decent labour rates?

Ok, I was just quoted $150-200 for labour to get the LPG components removed and engine re-timed and whatnot.
