hey guys
my vn auto slips when it goes into gear if its cold but if i give it 10 or so to walm up its fine and will go without slipping does it need a service or replacement ??
I'd be giving it a service first before any thoughts of replacing it. Especially if it's only slipping while it's cold.
If you can do it yourself trans service kits are pretty cheap, oil is easily the most expensive part of a service.
1. 1990 VN Exec V6
2. 1993 VP BT1 3.8L - Now wrecking for parts!
3. 1991 VP Berlina V8 - RIP
Looking for a good condition VN - VS V8!!!
if you do go ahead with the service, add some stuff called 'lucas transmission fix'. its done alot of good for my auto, now it doesnt slip at all. only costs like 20 bucks from repco![]()
+1 to the additive. For $20 it's not going to hurt and can make big difference on lightly worn transmissions.
