Lightbulb VN overhaul, to do or not to do?

My dreams are to to a full recon on my vn exec wagon engine and may be supercharge it.
Mate of mine thinks there is not much that can be done to these to get much more power gain.
I'm just happy to get enough out of it to at least half ass impress the rice burner driver (i.e about 25%of my mates.) as most of them already think she runs all right. Shes got over 300000kms on the clock now but still going hard.
I've heard of people doing "forged internals'', shall i look into that to.
Any advice is good advice, ta.

    Snake.

    Default Forged

    I am hoping to do:
    • High Compression Pistons with matching CAM Profile
    • Extractors with HighFlow 100Cell Cat converter into dual 2.5" exhaust
    • GTO Bonnet and making a RAMAIR system
    • Performance Tune
    • Different Diff ratio, possibly put a Ford 9 inch diff in.
    • Higher Ratio Valves and Rockers
    • Lowered (For suspention reasons only, not for looks, leaving the body stock)
    • Overhaul the suspention and put in wider wheels for traction
    • Overhaul the transmission
    • Forged conrods and Crank to handle the extra pressure if I decide to go down the forced induction path.

Hopefully the Naturally asperated path will put me at around 210HP at the wheels (around 290HP at the crank..) and the forced induction will take the car upto 280-300HP at the wheels with around 350 at the crank!

Is there a cheap way of modding a VN V6? Mine is quick enough, but runs sorta outta steam above 100. Do K&N filters and dif spark plugs anything?
