Default hey guys 1st time poster long time reader

hey lads im after some help

i own a vp manual, one the week end i had to change the clutch on my vp because it was slipping, i had a spare clutch at home so i put that in it apeared to look really good had plenty of meat on it, but the clutch is still slipping

i also changed the pressure plate and thrust bearing, the pressure plate had a bit of rust on it?

and the fly wheel was also abit greasy

why do u think it is still slipping?

    thanks sam

Dude, when you post in the wrong section, just ask to have the post moved, don't repeat or cross post as it's known. I have reported this thread for you

    Cheers.

Did you clean the grease off flywheel? I suppose depends if it's glazed badly it will require machining.

Yeah that explain the slipping, lesson learnt hey. Take the car for a good thrash, slip the clutch(Give it a hard time, ie hard 2nd gear starts) this should remove the grease but beware that if you thrash it too much you will glaze the flywheel, it's a nice easy way to fix but risky otherwise you could take it to any mechanic and they will remove, clean but leave you with a hole in the pocket.
