Series 1 has an external radiator overflow bottle,
Series 1 top radiator hose runs to the back of the motor

Series 2 has a radiator cap
Series 2 rad hose runs to the top of the motor next to alternator.

Dipstick is on the side instead of the front on series one as well I think.

    Nope,

    Vn Run a Series 1
    Vn Run a Series 2
    VP Run a Series 2
VR Run a Series 2.5 as most people call it.
