Rough idle in gear, trans prob??

Hey all wen i select a gear and wen foot on brake in my vn auto the rpm is low and sounds like car will die sometimes it just goes up and down from 300-900rpm then finds it self around 800-900 steady rpm does it all the time it ranges in how bad it does it iv done a trans sevice on it but hasnt fixed it posible trans probs was reading sumtin like this nd they said vacume leak from posible brake booster diaphram?? Also if i check the fault codes if sumtin rong with trans will it show a fault

have you checked your iac they can get full of crap and stuff up your idle try taking off your throttle body and giving it a good clean with carby cleaner also your idle may be low have you tried changing the little screw the the back of the throttle body and see how that affects it. dont forget to reset your iac after you do the throttle body by putting in park and holding at 3000rpm for 10 secs.

Wouldn't recommend carby cleaner on the IAC itself though. Get some of the spray that's designed especially for cleaning electronics. CO2 cleaner I think it is.
