Hi everyone Im new to this and I could use as much help as I can,
I have a 1989 VN berlina with the S1 engine, my mate has a VS 5 speed commodore which is a right off and he has kindly given me the car to take what I want off it, I hear the S1 has a different crank to the later models is there some sort of a Adaptor plate or am I sourcing a S2 Engine????
Cheers Rhys
Ah the VS is an ecotec? You can get adapters but they are a little pricey. If engine is a runner you could look at convertin engine/box
The series1 vn has a 6 bolt crank and the rest have a 8 bolt you will need to get the 6 bolt flywheel and the rest will bold up.
series 1 VN's had different cranks for auto/manual, so need an adapter or custom flywheel (both made by CRS) to suit the VS manual gearbox, make sure its a T5, if its a getrag id will be much harder to convert/adapt. see this thread too V6 Crankshaft Info
