hey guys,
i have a 1990 vn commodore and i get my p's in 8 weeks and want it to sound like a v8 or at least loud and deep by the time i get my p's, but dont have heaps to spend. whats the easiest way of going about this? mates have told me to get a cannon but i dont think they suit commodores very well, any other ideas
definately not a cannon
If you do not have heaps to spend, do nothing to it at all. You will never, ever, eeeever get it sounding like a v8 and anything done on the cheap will make it sound like a rats ass.
Get yourself a 2.5 inch catback exhaust, would be around $300 fitted (might find a cheaper price if you shop around), wont make it sound like a v8 though it will sound louder and could go a little better.
my stepdad wont let me get any dodgey work done on it and around 500 is my max, i just want it sounding really deep and not a shitty sound that i hear out of other commodores
just get an 2.5" exhaust and a set of extractors
You could'nt pay me to put a cannon on my car. lol.
But just get a 2.5" cat back, that's going to be less than $500 brand new and fitted, even if you want a nice tip too.
what does a cat back exhaust exactly do and where is a good place in the north west sydney area to get one fitted
im on my P's and I have pacemakers threw 2.5 catback redback fully tuned exhaust. all my mates say it sounds so good, ill post a vid soon![]()

my brother did it all over time but the end result he says was around 2grand but really would of been about 600-800 for pacemakers 400 for exhaust, ill post a vid tonight hopefully![]()

you could just run it off the headers, thatll make it sound tough as!
