Just took my catalitic converter off and had a look through it in the daylight and could onli see a hole the size of a five cent peice out the other side, does this mean it is blocked or is that how much light u should see through it?
I just replaced mine, and the one i replaced it with i could only see a bit of light (about 5 cents in diameter) Because it is a honeycombe center you should only be about to see about that at one time .. If you couldnt see anything or could only see in parts of it id be worried ..

Can onli see through it when lookin straight down the middle
The way the honey comb substrate is, that is usually all you can see through them.
If any of the little holes were blocked or it looked a bit concave then it would be on it's way out, but the way you describe it is normal.
