The diffrence between the t5 and getrag is where the Reverse gear is located isnt it?
T5 off memory is right and down and getrag left and up ?

No thats not the difference. Your thinking T56.

    T5 5 speed = cable clutch
Getrag 5 speed = hydraulic clutch
T56 6 speed = hydraulic clutch with reverse to the left and up.

You can get your memcal retuned to use as a manual, talk to doctor bob and delcowizard about it.
You can buy a kit for vr's on ebay, trx100 ebay shop lnk check with him if there is one available for a vn.

VN manual/auto run the same computer and will both run the on the same tune. You also can fit a getrag box but it requires a little more, you would need a hydrolic pedal box, possible different bellhousing? Im not sure but it can be done if you really want to but in IMO T5 is a better box anyway.

The complete Vn-Vr Manual Conversion Guide.

Lots of info in that thread. What parts have you got? Or is the box all you have?

Yea around these parts people opt for the T5 over the getrag. Some wreckers i know wont even do a getrag conversion cause of the issues they have.
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

Why not do an ecotec conversion at the same time?
