How to slide steering rack to remove the extractor?

hi My VP has a GENIE extractor which goes between the engine and steering arm
I undone two bolt underneath the steering and slide it back a little bit but i still cant slide the extractor off from the top because the connection bit on the extractor cant go through between the engine and steering arm
Does anyone know how to disconnect the steering arm so there are more space for extractor to come off ? only one bolt on the arm? is it hard to refit?

There is a knuckle with 2 bolts on it (the rod coming from the steering wheel). Disconnect them, youll have to pull the steering rack out as well and tug it around a bit till the knuckle disconnects. its a shit of a job aye. yeh its hard to refit, i got a big strong mate to do it for me haha

Its not hard to let the rack go. Two bolts to car and one or two for the input shaft. You get a bit of play once thats done but the power steering lines stop you from getting it right out of the way and its not a hard job either but can be messy. Whatever you do don't try to fit extractors to a calais as the rack is slightly different and with the rack removed still couldn't jam the extractors up there on drivers side. Had to pull the ABS box aside and slide in from the top. Supposed to let the engine mounts go to get the extra room but didn't wanna pull too much apart.
