The wagon i got for $1000

hi i just picked up a vn wagon for $1000. Its manual and runs ok but it has to crank over for a while before it starts, my other ven starts first go. any ideas?

Check your fuel pump relay, when the relay fails then the oil pump will supply power to the fuel pump via oil pressure switch. Power will not be supplied until proper oil pressure has been achieved, hence turning the engine over for longer.
