On a cold morning the throttle cable is pretty tight though when the car warms up a bit the cable heats up too and becomes a fair bit freer, though not real good. Got to thinking how can I fix this? First I started dabbing a bit of oil on the exposed engine end of the cable and working the pedal up and down but this was pretty hopeless. Then suddenly I got the kind of idea that I usually get after I have finished the job and packed up. Ran inside and got a syringe and needle from an old inkjet printer cartridge refilling kit, filled it with oil and poked the needle 50mm down inside the cable sheathing. Put in about 1cc of oil, worked the pedal again about 20 times, then more oil more pedal till I had put maybe 5-6 cc of oil down there. Probably a bit much. LOL. Haven't driven the car since I did it yesterday but this morning I sat in it and tried it out and it was WAY better even when cold. Tomorrow we'll see how it is when hot. Just hope all that excess oil doesn't run down the cable and inside the car :-)
Buy a new cable. Not that expensive. Old ones probably been overtightened to many times and is now stretched.
