I just installed a 85L tank out of a VS Statesman into my VN v6.....It seems to idle OK, but when i drive it, it cuts out every 10 seconds or so....
Any ideas?
Cheers Dazz
It would have to be running out of fuel for some reason. How much fuel did you put back in the tank?

IIRC, the VN long range (V8) tank has two pumps, in lieu of the single (internal tank) high pressure pump for the standard tank. The long range tank has a low pressure pump internal to the tank, with a high pressure pump (with an external pulsator) outside the tank.
If you have simply hooked up the standard connection when you replaced the tank, then chances are you are only running the low pressure pump - which sort of relates to the problems you are experiencing.
You may need to add a connection to the external high pressure pump, to ensure it is running, to sort things out.
OK is there anything stopping me installing my standard VN tank pump in the long range VS tank....
I know the original works and as my VN has done less than 40,000km it should be OK yeah

did u get the wires right?
yep its out of a VS, I picked up an new fuel pump today
i did mine and it runs so the pump would be the next bet
Installed new pump....drove to the servo and it was stalling still, however once i put more fuel in it seems OK..
But I will need to take it for a decent drive, fingers crossed
if u dont put the pump in the same way it come out when the tank gets low it will cut out
