Hello all,
I have a 92 Newport Lexcen ( Calais ), with central locking, and Remote Unlocking.
When I unlock the door, all the buttons go up, but the drivers side door, looks to not lift fully, and it will not manually make a difference when pulled up.
The car has been sitting for a while, but the lock was working about 6 weeks ago.
I am guessing a lever, or rod is frozen in position. I tried spraying a silicine spray around where I could, but that was difficult, and not knowing where to spray, it was a waste of time.
At this time the only way I can see to unlock the door, is thru the internal panel.
About 15 years ago, a little bstard was able to unlock the door by punching a hole right next to the keyhole in the skin, right on the corner of the lock. They never stole anything, because the alarm went off.
That hole is still there. I never had it fixed, because it was hardly noticable, but it may be a way to unlock the door.
Any Suggestions.
might be your door lock actuator, bolted to the door frame maybe a foot below your handle assembly. might wanna take it off and test it with 12 volts direct see if its frozen or not. if so just pocket one from the wreckers there the same from vn to vx im pretty sure. just unplugs and has 2 philips head screws piss easy...
