hey guys
um coupple questions
im bak to going down my turbo route again.havent got it all planned yet tho
would a t04e be sufficent enough??
2.5" or 3"exhaust.not going for huge horsepower.dont want 2 run anything over 10psi on the unopened motor.its got 160xxxkms at the present time.
now engineering parts.any1 got there turbo vp engineered in NSW.whats the min size brake i wuold prob need.VT as they are twin pot?and intercooler piping or just run it so theres no need for body modification.would anything have to be done suspension wise.or just re bush the whole thing?
cheers heaps
hey mate,
I have a 355 twin turbo vn commodore, so might be able to answer a few questions for you....
Im guessing this is going on a 3800 V6, by your details...
The t04e are a pretty big unit. You would get boost, but it would be all on the top end range.
I would recommend a garrett gt3076R. A bit smaller, but would hit boost from 2500 rpm upwards.. If you get them internally gated, its way easier with pipe setup. Plus more underbonnet space!
These turbos can easiely handle 10PSI, your motor will crack it before the turbo is overpushed.
With engineering, welcome to head aches!
I am running 6spot hsv calipers on the front, and these were passed by engineers certs. It all depends on who does the engineering for you. I had 18" rims on the car at the time, and these were the largest I could get to fit, They are actually ment to fit behind a 19" rim, although had custom disc to suit made.
If you get 4spot callipers on the front, you should be sweet! although look at doing the rears also....
anything else let me know..
cheers!
cheers for that cruzin_commodore
whats a t3/t4 size comparison to the gt30 and the t04e?
yeah i dont want to run a stupid amount off boost like i said.
wuld like the down lower boost as its a 5speed with the auto 3.08diff so its pretty long in the legs with out the take off.could i get something that will start spooling up say about 2200 or there abouts.whats a bit smaller than a gt30.not to familier with all turbos
there some decent size brakes u got there.
cheers
