Internal pumps are the same VN-VS so you can use the pump out of either. Just change the sender unit if its got different connections for the fuel line/electrical.

Sender unit is on the fuel pickup same as the pump, you have to remove it from inside the tank by unbolting the plate on the front side where the fuel line and electrical connectors go.
From memory a VS tank has the same dimmensions you may have to get one from a VS witha solid axle though not IRS but I don't know about that? The one difference I know however is the number of breather hose connections on the top of the takn is different, the VN has 2 small and 1 large and the VS has 1 small and 1 large. If your changing the tank you will have to sort that out if they are different and I would suggest gettign replacement hoses and also a new hose for the filler tube,

IRS and Solid tanks are the same, only the straps are different.

The sender is what holds the pump in the tank and what you remove from the tank.

As for the breathers, there proberly non existant anyway. Just get some new ones and hook them up to the tank style you got, i use carby fuel hoses.
