I've got a heavy duty PWR cooler to go on and replace the in radiator cooler- question is, does the system need to be bled of any air or do you just hook it up and away you go? I'll be doing the oil and filter in the trans while I am at it but can't see a decent way of purging air from it- I'm guessing I'm worrying about nothing though.
Anyone got advice?
The trans usually has a breather any way as far as I know. Will be fine if you just swapped it out.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
The general consenus is that you should leave the raidiator cooler plumbed in with your trans cooler installed main reasons for this that gearbox fluid needs to be hot to work properly but not stupidly hot the radiator provides the ideal temperature for fluid.
So your best setup is to go from trans to trans cooler then radiator then back to trans.
This way the trans cooler will remove any excess heat from fluid and radiator and then radiator will bring it back to operatign temp

I've spoken to PWR about it as well and it seems a lot of people are thinking a well suited cooler is a good option but I have heard the same as Pub247 says elsewhere on the internet. I guess I'll have to find out for myself.
