Okay so i know a lot of info is going around about doing this. but i wanna know what other people have done or if they have any advice
Short of finding a reliable series 1 t5 in decent condition, i know their are plenty of series 2 or 8 bolt boxes going around
have people had luck with the crack adaptors?
Has anyone been able to source a new 6 bolt flywheel?
Any advice or comments would be useful as i plan on doing this conversion in the next few months.
Cheers,
Jack.
boxes are the same its the fly wheel thats different and yes i know this as i converted my old vn from auto to manual and used a vp gear box. you will have to bridge the neutral starter switch easy job to do some gear box places even have a plug that does it for you. you can still run an auto ecu as i did for 2 years with no issues at all its only you can not use a manual ecu on an auto. to get the pedal out you will have to pull the drivers side air con vent out as it just makes the job a hell of a lot easier and with the series 1 you have to change Ur motor to a manual motor as the auto and manual motors are different. the conversion took me about a day its not to hard just need to use your brain.and will also need a manual tail shaft.
I used the adapter, been 3 years since i done it and its still fine.
