poweer steering problem

guys i think i blew my power steering rack your oppinions needed!
the steering was getting extremely tight then bang the steering just completely stopped working had to get a toe triuck home
like u turn the steering wheel but the wheels dont move!??

what needs changing just the rack?

Do you mean that the steering wheel now just spins freely and the wheels dont turn? If that is the case you could have broken the uni knuckle joint that is near the floor that joins the steering shaft to the the rack. Or maybe the lock bolt that hold the knuckle to the rack might have came loose.

Does it still have fluid in the power steer pump??

If the steering is suddenly extremely heavy, but still connected, it's likely you've blown a hose between the pump and the rack. This leaves you with no power assistance but the steering still works - it's just incredibly heavy to operate. Hope that's all it is - it's the easiest and possibly cheapest fix of any problem you could have.
