Hey guys,
Been having this recurring problem with my VP Berlina. The interior fan will always be on, even when switched off. There will also be a whistle behind the glovebox area at the same time - when travelling at about 60kph or more. It is really annoying, so any help will be appreciated.

I will ask some friends for ya man
If it has climate control and the fan is on even with the ignition off your fan sped controller is shot. It sits in the plenum chamber and you get at it by removing the plastic cover infront of the windscreen and the wiper arms. It is a transistor of some sort and it will be shorted out. You can go to Holden and pay a fortune for a new one or you can buy a new transistor and solder it in. I think WES in Sydney sell the transistor for about $14.00
No doesn't have climate control, just standard

Is it on with the ignition turned off?

just checking over it again - fan seems to be working fine. Just this whining/whistle around the blower motor area

mine does that too think its the fan bearing... might be a thread on that here somewhere...

Oh really? Yeah cos mine even does it with recycled air selected and the fan control off. Mainly at above 80kph though....

Just having a look at it now. I wonder if it could be coming from one of the actuators behind the glove box? How would you test them for leaks?
