Hi I just took out old radio to replace with another but realised i didnt have brackets for new one, Because i discoonected battery to do this and i taped up old wires until i get bracket .. But when i start car the orange engine light comes on sometimes and then it will cut the engine or if i keep the revs up a bit it keeps running but orange engine light is still on? mmmm I was told i dont know if correct but sometimes when you disconnect the batter the engine immobiliser kicks in?? I was told to use my key to turn the engine immobiliser off, BUT !!! The key dont fit the hole? So if this is correct about the orange light being something to do with engine immobiliser how can i correct this probelm, maybe there is a way to disconnect wires? Please let me know so i can fix it..Thanks..
sorry dude, all i saw was blah blah blah orange light blah blah.....
If the engine light is on it means there is a fault code stored in the memory. You should check to see what code is coming up to give you an idea where to start looking. Do a search on checking fault codes, its gotta be round here somewhere
Edit: The orange check engine light indicates a fault code has been detected. I think issues with the immobiliser can trigger a fault code, but it is one of many possibilities. This is why you should check for codes before stuffing around with other things which might be fine
