Default v8 extractor gaskets... do i need em?

i've got gaskets on it at the moment and both gaskets have blown in the same spot. i dont know what kind of gaskets though, probably cheapies the mechanic put on after the rebuild.

i've spoken to repco, they have a combination fibre/metal backed gasket for like $10, but it's probably no different to the gaskets on it.

i've heard of all metal gaskets, but the guy at repco didnt know what i was talking about.

do i need gaskets? and if i do, what's a good gasket to use?

    ta,

high temperature silicone is all you need.no gaskets required if you use silicone....or if you want to put silicone both sides of gasket.most exhaust places use silicone, especially if mating surfaces are uneven
