Got a Stock VN Wagon, Got a pod filter and got the rear muffler cut off, replaced with straight pipe and a tip. Sounded better and I was satisfied, but as I've chosen to go back to my stock air box and wack a new air filter in there instead of the pod sucking hot air. It's lost a bit of it's grunt.
Will this do the trick well?
REDBACK 2.5" SPORTS EXHAUST SUIT VN VP VR VS COMMODORE | eBay
Not looking for a V8 sound, but just more grunt than what it currently is, which if to go by anything sounds like a Stock VN with a hole in the muffler.
Here is a quick video:

Or Other options?
On a tight budget, really not able to spend more than $250.00 Hence ebay.
Cheers!

Yeah for $195 I guess I can't go wrong! Cheers for the assurance!
I had a redback catback on my old vs 3.8 v6 ute with pacemaker headers and highflow cat, was pretty loud, didnt sound too bad but droaned badly
Fair enough then. The straight pipe and tip has a drone to it a lot of the time...
So if I buy exactly and only is what is pictured in the ebay link, without at this time, getting extractors or anything else, and putting that on,
is there any cons to it? And will I get a much better sound not having extractors or any other modifications of that nature?
If your on a tight budget get it. I dont think there would be any cons to it but it would be way better than a stock exhaust and If your worried about drone get the one with 2 mufflers and make sure there straight through mufflers i think all the redbacks are but just make sure. As for sound well it aint gonna be like a v8 but should be better.

I dint think u can ever make a six sound great, kinda like a fart....,,still not as bad as a ford six with exhaust! They sound shite.

To put it simply, if it sounds better than in the video I posted @ the start of the forum, I will be satisfied.
Will later upgrading to extractors improve the red-backs sound more if any?
I have that exhaust on my v8 wagon with straight pipe on the back, its very quiet lol ( I want to go to extractors with twin cats and a Xpipe one day) but its good and civilised for a daily driver that doesn't attract too much attention, also some people remove the bellmouth from the throttlebody on those v6's I believe, someone will be able to tell you if its worth it or not.
Just watched your video it will sound very similar maybe a bit deeper but will be more efficient due to the mandrel bends and glass pack muffler.
Should sound better than in the video but it comes down to what sound you want with the catback you should get a nice clean sound if your after a really loud sound get a 3 inch catback but that will set you back around $500 and really is to big for a v6. Have a look at the Lukey exhaust seems to be a better brand and the cost is the same but for $200 you carnt go wrong no matter what its still going to be better than what you have now. Hahahaha been over that Bellmouth bullshit, not worth it. I honestly think it's a placebo effect people have thinking it makes the car SO much faster/responsive.
And a BIG thank you to Matty94 for putting me onto the Lukeys!!
