Vp smoke n melted wires??
Hey guys I just brought my self a vp factory 5 speed n when I tried to jump start it I melted the earth wire from tha battery to the side of the engine bay near the headlight, is there any reason why that would of happened?? I'm 2 scared todo it again

i would guess you put the positive on the negative and negative on the positive, e.g jumper cables backwards...
Na all was done right, it only started to smoke when it actually started

Most car have a skinny black wire going to the body and a fat black wire going to the engine block.
My guess is the fat wire is not making a real good connection to the block so all the current goes through the skinny wire, so it ends up smoking.

yep a crappy earth will do that check your earths. I had the same problem i just got some 4g amp wires and made a new earth on the body and havent had a problem since.
