They look and sound cool but are probably slower in stock form than a VX exec

I love the VP SS, I have one. They are the first model V8 with IRS and ABS. No air bag so you can put whatever steering wheel you want and no traction control so great for the odd wheel spin. I would say the only downfall is the lack of caster standard but that can be overcome with an adjustable caster rod. Also get urethane rear crossmember mounts to stop axle tramp. VNs are a bit dated suspension wise for me. IRS is great.

They may be outdated and slower in stock form, but try get an VX Executive to sound like a VP SS, oh wow.

I think in an ideal world I would have the newest commodore I could afford and a VP SS or VP Clubsport/Senator in the garage for a rainy day (metaphorically speaking).

Well put it this way if i see someone driving a vx exec im just like yeah watever but if i see someone driving a vp ss ill be like look at that thats sick as i want one. Vp ss just so much more style then a vx and yet they can still be a good every day car.

Mine has an LSD and Im pretty sure all others do from factory. It handles very well on the open road it feels like its on rails. I have 8" wide 16" SV5000 rims with 225s.

Also I guess VXs are going down in value but good origonal VP SS 's have all ready depreciated I to there lowest point and should start to go up provided they are not modified in tasteless ways.

not sure how everyone else feels but if compared a VP SS and a VX exec, id pick the VP everytime, solely based on the fact its a V8.

when i first got my P's i would have bought a camry, if it had a V8 in it.

go the VP SS or even VN SS?

IMO these are sought after and finding a clean example (assuming thats what you'd be after) may take a little while.
yeah, they are light, simple and are just look tough with tasteful modifications.

I put my VP SS on the scales which as had all the body deadener removed + rear seat & AC and it just got to 1340. Stock they are up around 1450. No idea what the VXSS was but it is by far a better car.

i'd say if you were looking for a really clean well kept not abused vp ss, you'd probably be looking at almost the same price as a vx ss (if not more). sure the vp looks better, but ls1 shits all over a 5ltr and the vx probably handles way better too. if you a get a vp just buy a gregories and prepare to do work on it yourself, because these cars are at the age when problems start popping up quite frequently. i'd prefer to get a newer car for daily and fix up my vp as a cruiser for weekends.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Alot to consider really. I Don't realy need a car to be honest, I have driven a vx ss and are a big fan off them and they are a lot more safer, but then again a vp ss or hsv vp i'n black would be a dream. Like I said it will not be for a while
