Default Few questions about VP ute

    Hey guys,

I have a 5 speed 5ltr VP ute and would like to fix a few problems, I don't know a great deal about cars but have been racing and fixing dirtbikes for years so i can spin a spanner.

It has a couple of small problems, the main 1 is when cornering at speed i get a lot of feed back and shuttering through the steering wheel, can this be caused by bad shocks? as they seem a little soft and bouncy, Can anyone let me know on what to diagnose to fix this problem

I would also like to put some 18" wheels under it and lower it a little bit, I dont wont to go to low as i have to cart my bike to races, I found some cheap wheels on ebay that i like but how do i make sure they will fit, can some1 explain PCD to me.

Sorry for all the noob questions but as you can tell im new to working on cars.

    Cheers

lowering the ute will help corering and feed back.. how low do you want to go and 18's will fit just depends on the off set..

    Thanks for the reply,

How do i determine the off set?, I was thinking of lowering it maybe 50mm but im going to put the wheels on before i drop it so i can make sure i don't go 2 low.

Also when i do lower it do i have to use an adjustable panhard bar?

I have 16" simmonds B45's on atm and the wheels just look way to small.

This link should help explain PCD for you and help you work out what will fit your ute and not stuff the cars suspension geometry. I Know it refers to the USA but the principle remains
