yes me again

Still working on the back seat getting it sewed up, ran out of thread after using 250 metres of thread (jebus that's a lot for 1 and a half seats). Anyway my handbrake button is FUBAR so it bugs me, gave the rubber button a pry and out it popped but I'm not putting a rubber button back on. Have some solid alloy rod to put in the lathe and make look nice. Just gotta decide on brushed or polished.

Just one thing, that centre bar in the middle that the rubber button goes on, how hard is that to get out? I'd like to thread it so the button screws on but can epoxy resin it on to if that is tricky since it is only ever pushed down. The little things bug me so I'm making a reasonable effort to make this car much nicer inside.
