Hey all need help asap.
Just went for a drive noticed had no power to climate control, figured fuse blown and kept driving. The all of a sudden while at light my temp soared and fan never kicked it. I have the bypass switch and that isn't working either.
Checked most fuses under steering wheel and bonnet. Fuse 1-5 ok n 17 is ok. Fuse for blower n fusable link look ok under bonnet. Duno what else to try. Relay blown?
Any help would be great
So just changed the relay for blower fan under bonnet, still nothing.
Pulled out every fuse under the dash and under bonnet. They all look good.
Have no idea where to look next without a multi meter ;(
does the fan work if you hook it up on its own?
Fuses can look good and actually be blown. Try a spare in place.
Temporarily I'd grab a relay off acc and make the fan go whenever the key is on
I have the fan bypass, ground for fan relay that turns it on when I want but it's not working.
Would mean I have no power to that relay.
I'll go change the fan fuse even tho it looks good.
Any more ideas will b great, thanks for replys aye. Need this sorted before work
Fan relay fuse changed, still nothing![]()
Do you have a multimeter? Check wether there is power at the relay
I've got a meter. Just dnt have leads for it. Underpants gnomes took em.
No other takers/ideas
In the morn I'm goin to undo the positive terminal, think one of the cables is for fan relay positive, may have bad connection.
Other than that I'm outta ideas until I can get a multi meter onto it
there is a diagnostic thing that you can do that will pop the codes for what is stuffed on the climate control , lets see if i can dig it up in my ton of repco service manuals
maybe hit up greenvn he might have a clue on the process
I've got diagnostic for climate control but it not turnin on.
If I was to run a error check I think it would only throw up code 12 all good.
Only thing is the fan won't run coz it's got no power either.
Can anyone tell me if one of the 3x cables for batt positive if The smallest one is for thermo/heater fan power
Only thing I can think it be is dodgy connection at the batt. It's covered slightly in grime as it's on the top of the stack.
Need multi meter. Have to get sum leads at global tomorrow as it's the closest to work.
And hope the m1 south isnt congested
dropped my partner off at work this morning, 5am climate control and engine fan are working. damm u night gremlims
when i left for work at 7:30 the bastard wasnt working again, so intermittent connection
Pretty sure its the cable at the batt.
well check that the 5 prong relay is in the correct socket or replace it if it is
Looks like i fixed it, de greased the positive terminal, tightened it all up n presto all workin n hasnt dropped out yet.
Must have been a bad connection at the batt.
Must get multi meter leads, this has been a pain without a meter to check volts around the place.
Thanks for help everyone who posted
Wiring Diagram, have multi meter now, cant find a problem, any points to where i should check voltage? and what relay is the onse used to climate control
JUst ran the meter over teh pins for fan relay, Pin86 only has 2.5v pin 30 has 12.3v, is that right??
Fusable link for blower fan is on 12.3v too so thats fine.
not sure about the VP having climate control via the BCM. If the CC unit is not turning on you could try the earth for it (I failed to connect this up when fitting CC the the VN wagon a few years back and the climate no workies).
You could also run a tempory power wire and earth to see if the problem stops.

Bastard of a thing hasnt played up since thrus morn now.
Pulled out all the relays, one was really hard to get out. Had slight build-up on the terminals.
Not sure if that was the CC relay but it not being a pain everytihng is working, so yeah just gotta wait for it to fail again til i can keep looking.
thanks for help, ill bump this up if it plays up again
