Hi guys on the vp paintwork is it just the primer then the car paint colour?
I thought that the paintwork also had a clear coat on it.. But the father in law said that its only used on the metallic colours. I thought it looked like the alaskian white i got has a coat... Or is it just buffed to shine ?
Got a bit of the roof to repaint where i bogged a rust hole.. Not worth paying someone to repaint it..
Whites didn't have clear on them![]()

Why doesn't white have a clear on it?
Solid colours usually don't have a clear coat. They simply don't need it.
Metallic, pearl and mica paints do require clear as part of the finishing process, and black is typically clear coated because it fades like a bitch if it isn't.
White does not fade like black and so most times it gets no clear coat.

Ah thanks for that.. Might have to polish my white car soon now..
Yeah, the whole car needs a coat of paint. Luckily, it's going to be a rally car, and you're probably not going to be able to see the paintwork through the acres of red earth on the roof![]()
