hi i got a vn 304 when driving it runs ok then motor will miss/cutout for a second then run ok for a few mins then cut out quickly again i got new coil plugs leads earth is good
would it be the ignition module????
A couple of family members that have had VN V8's have had similar issues and it was the ignition module that was causing it. In my son's case it would run fine then just cut out for no reason but would restart ok then run for a while, maybe all day then bang cut out again, it was quite dangerous as it cut out a few times in the middle of a turn. He changed the ignition module and never had the problem again.
Yes, ignition modules are a common cause of such an issue.
Before you go and blow big bucks on a second hand one on eBay, just check that your hall effect sensor is plugged in securely, and not playing up. This is the three-wire plug on the side of your distributor.
While the car is running, stick your hand back there and jiggle the plug around a bit, to see if you can replicate the misfire. I've seen many a poor plug or broken HES cause a random miss.

its not really a miss it just cuts out for a second pretty often but motor keeps running i just wanna fix it before it does die
If it's less of a misfire, and more of a cut-out, it's probably spark.
Narrows it down to:
Ignition Module
Hall effect sensor
Spark plugs
ECU (far less likely on these old girls)

I have fixed two of those modules. Where the pins from the rectangular plug join the circuit board the soldered joint often cracks. Just resolder them all and see how you go. You have to pull the board out of the box to do it.
