i got a vn v8 has a problem i thinking oil problem when driving very easy it seems ok but when i really get up it starts ticking clunking grinding and gets worse the longer its running but if u turn it off for a hour or so and start it will still make noise for 2 sec then go quiet and run ok untill i get up it again i have had oil pick up cleaned and pump filled with oil
maybe a release valve or lifters i have on idea
try a new filter, then put an oil pressure gauge on it. Thats where I'd start. This will rule out bearings, oil pump, oil pump pressure reg. spring, pick up etc.
Yes, if you think it's an oil issue, you NEED an oil pressure gauge before this gets costly.
What sort of oil are you running in there out of interest?
Drain the oil (check for metal traces), refill with Penrite HPR30 + new oil filter, and screw the oil pressure gauge in there for diagnosis. *cringes*

yeah was using hpr30 then tryed hpr40 has new filter and oil gauge wont work cause it only happens when ya get up it a fair bit
When "ya get it up" in terms of engine revs, or road speed?
And HPR40 HAS to be too thick for it, please drop it and put a thinner oil in ^_^
