    Default Rear Vibration from 80 - 110k's

    Hi guys,

    Keep a long story short, had my rear left wheel fall of my 5L 92 vp berlina. Everything looked to be ok as i was at a low speed. I run 235's and use spacers otherwise they rub the inside. I decided to get longer studs. Since changing the studs i now have a vibration from 80 - 110k's.

    If anyone has any experience with this please let me know. The car has been nothing but a fustration ever since the wheel has fallen off. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    With steel wheels at least, the hole in the centre should fit completely over the round bit that pokes out the centre of the axle. Not only does this bit take the weight instead of the wheel studs, it also guarantees the wheel is dead centre, not eccentric. If you have spacers maybe the wheel is not sitting fully on this centre bit and so might be off-centre?

    Call me silly;

    But, from the information you've provided; I assume your wheel fell off and you re-used it. As such, it MAY have buckled ever so slightly.

    Happened to my GTi; though, the wheels didn't fall off... Car ran down a hill; up a gutter and into a park fence. Haha. They are so sneaky; those Swifts.

    In most places wheel spacers are illegal because they are dangerous to use..they overstress the wheel bearings,hubs etc,and can cause problems like wheels coming loose or coming completely off,which is probably what happened to yours.This is why they are illegal,they are dodgey at best.You should just get proper wheels that fit the car properly.You are just endangering your own life and other road users as well by using spacers..
