Default 92 vp ss gearbox mount

hi i have a 1992 vp ss commodore and i was replacing my gearstick surround and noticed my gearbox is pushed to the right hand side 2inched roughly. and just wanted to know if that would be casued due to the gearbox mount. dont want to buy one if thats not the case.
    cheers

The bolts have probably fallen out of the rear mount where it bolts to the gearbox. Do you get a clunking noise/feeling under your feet when you drive off firmly from a stand still?

The gearboxes never sit dead centre under the console surround. When looking at the underside of the car on a hoist, the tailshaft should dog-leg slightly to the left, which implies slight gearbox situation to the right.

Simply get underneath with a prybar or crowbar and attempt the lever the back of the gearbox around from the mount area. You'll be able to tell straight away if everything isn't cosher

it does get a rough ride. and has caused tailshaft bolts to come lose on a few occasions. the gearbox is too far to the right. it has bent the metal on the side its over that far. mostly when in 5th gear.
we think its the right hand engine mount. we are putting another one in soon
