I had a mad idea while i was having morning smoko, what would be the best way to increase performance in a stock vn that is still legal for p-platers, my first thought was, high flow injectors, larger fuel pump and a cold air intake upgrade, any more ideas?
Cheers

wow! what a fantastic and new idea you have had. amazing. weird that no one has ever though of modifying they commodore while still keeping it legal for p-platers.
good for you, good for you![]()
Put a spud in your exhaust...Rev it up, the spud won't let the gasses out so it will build up pressure, when you finally blow the spud out, your mang mang V6 VN will rear up like a drag car and do 0-100 in 4 seconds.
Don't waste your time man! Save for a V8.

I saw on another thread like this that changing the diff ratio can increase acceleration and therefore perceived power since the factory one is very tall.
That would be legal for a p plater wouldn't it?
Just put Metho in your fuel tank, that will also make it run like a rocket.
Some of these ideas cheersas for ari cheers prick
some of us don't have a pile of money and i just wanted to get a rough idea of what i could do for some sort of budget and im sure there are others like me that want a little bit of bang for our buck bwfore we can play with decent cars

Take out your belmouth/Cold air - run 100mm drainpipe under your airbox/ zaust/ xtractors/ high flow cat/ diff gears/ raise your compression/
better yet drop in an alloytech
Just keep it well maintained and serviced. In my experience a VN motor in good condition has way too much power for the brakng and handling ability of a stock car and can get the inexperienced into all sorts of bother rather quickly. My advice keep it stock apart from say a Lukey high flow exhaust (they look stock), put the money into advanced driving lessons and then go and buy a VY V6 or a V8 when your off your P's
Ive done a driving course when i got my licenec and its maintained fantasticly well as i service it quiet regually, just want to bump up the power a tad before i go buy a wh woth a 5.7 lt![]()

If you really wanna spend money on it, i'd do a manual conversion, slippery diff,
gears and foamy tune.
It won't go any faster but it'll be 50x more fun to drive and legal.
Gud idea wortus i have a mate that can help me out with thatvn luke that idea was on the cards allways wanted it to have a manual just for extra kicks
