hey guys. I'm tinkering about with my new head deck, and i just can't get the Bugger to work! Basically, I've connected accessory to yellow on the loom, batt twelve v to nothing, dimmer to brown black, and constant to yellow red. Is there something terribly wrong with this? Thanks! Dan.
Possibly a silly question but have you grounded it?
+1 for checking earth...also check you haven't blown a fuse?
I joined the Ground from the Pioneer to ground on the loom. No go?
yeah you should connect it to the ground of the old headunit?
is there a fuse in the back of the new headunit?
Yup. It's not broken though. I'm really quite clueless.

That's what I followed.
12v to nothing?!! Go to red with that and see
If its a VN the original loom colours were,
Yellow = accessories
Orange/White = to fuse
Black/White = to ground
Yellow/Red = Power antenna signal
plus the unit itself was grounded have you done that as well
I dunno man
I havent much experience with your models wiring...hopefully someone else can help out..
all i can suggest is double check your connections?
on my pioneer, there is no wire to match up with batt twelve coming from the loom. From the pioneer, I've joined ignition twelve volt to accessories on the loom, yellow to constant and ground to black on the loom.
guys, I'll tell you what. When i get home I'll list the pioneer wiring diagram and then the vp eurovox wiring diagram. Rather than chase our tails, somebody can just tell me what should go where.. Seems like a more strategic plan!
Or you could of saved your self all this hassle bought the right harnesses to begin with boom done in 15 minutes.

Indeed, what you say is true. Although; I'd really rather leave everything stock. As in;
I take out my Pioneer DEH-5250SD from it's box (That I paid almost $450 for), and then wire it to the factory loom.
In any case; to those who would like to help, I will proceed to list the DEH-5250SD Wiring Diagram!
Yellow: Connect to the constant 12 V Supply Terminal.
Red: Connect to the terminal controlled by ignition switch (12V DC)
Orange/White: Connect to lighting switch terminal
Black: Connect to a clean, paint free metal location.
Now! I'll list the VN-VT Wiring Diagram; bar the speaker wires.
Accessory (12V) : Yellow
Battery (12V) : Orange/White
Dimmer In (12V) : Brown/White
Ground : Black/White
Constant (12V) output : Yellow/Red.
That is about as good as it gets; I guess. What wire goes where?
To all, thankyou for all of your help. It's much appreciated!
Dan.
Factory to Headunit as follows
Yellow to Red
Yellow/Red to Yellow
Black is obvious
Brown/White to Orange
Make sense now? Just a suggestion.. no need to be a smart ass mate
Lol 400?

Finally got the head deck working. It was wired correctly the whole time! Funny thing is; I took the liberty of skimming the User Manual; which pointed me in the direction of a "reset" button hidden on the deck.
Thanks to all who took the time to help me out.
Tomorrow I'll hopefully get around to installing the front and rear speakers; and setting up the connections for my Focal BUS-25 that will be arriving in the next week or two.
Until next time!
Dan.
