Is there an offset difference between commy's up to VY? It was my understanding that all rims were universal up to VZ, reason im asking is because i have a VP V6 and want to Charge it, but no good power is worth it unless you are able to stop! So i wanna do the brake upgrade, ive done searches but there is so much about commy models i dont no, can any one clear it up
Thanks in advance and sorry if its a repeated question.
Im confused, you want to know the offset of the wheels so you can upgrade the brakes? If so its got nothing to do with the brakes.
If your after a VT brake conversion there is heaps of threads on them, do a search. If not somone should post in here soon that knows more about them.
Also if your interested look into getting a VE brake upgrade kit.

Thats why i asked, when i did a search some guy said the offset will change due to the hub! i was confused, i use to deal with fords and the Falcon AU brake upgrade changed the offset from Eseries to Aseries i though the same principle applyed with VP-VT because of how he said it, if so how then does a VT rim fit a VP commodore?? the guy was either WRONG and trying to sound smart or there is more to it?
Either way i just wanna no what do i need to do it (all components) and do is there a diff in rim?
I no repeat questions S**T people off, sorry there is just so much info to sift through and most is opinionated
when you install the front rotors from a vt onto a vn you will need adaptor shims. this is because the rotors will not fit well on the vn hubs. You will also need the vt brake booster and lines. Commodore rims are universal as long as they are big enough to clear the calipers when you install the rims. Any wheel offset produced by the rims can be rectified by a good wheel alignment.
I have been looking at doing this to my vn, but i just wrecked a vt and have the whole front end setup from a vt to play with, and so i will be swapping the vn hubs with vt hubs as well to eliminate the problem.
Umm, Vn's dont have hubs as such. Its all one unit, disc and bearings.
Not all commodore rims are universal, VC-VZ is but VE wheels need machining to make them fit older modles.

my mistake im thinking vr
I have seen kits that say they do NOT require a VT booster and that a VT booster is not as easy as plug and play, it requires some stuffen around? By shimes do you mean the conversion hub? It was my understanding all you need is, VT brake calipers, VT brake pads, VT brake rotors, those conversion hubs( i dont no what they are, or if they can be canibilised off the VT or another car) and brake lines (again dunno if they have to be made or u can get from another vehical) That was all, possibly new VP wheel bearings if the others are no good? Is this correct?
You buy the VT calipers, discs, conversion hubs off ebay or hoppers stoppers which use the same bearings as original, VT master cyl, VS booster, flare adapters, custom brake lines and your set.
Nice one! The VT Master and the VS booster will hook right up? or....
bolt right up.
AWSOME! cant wait for some cabbage
VP IRS offset is 28P (calais wheels) or 35P (HSV wheels) because the VT wheels 48P rub on the body.
This make no difference up front, I ran everything on my VP's VY 19's 48P offset to the HSV VP wheels 35P and the stock Calais wheels 28P. They all bolt up fine on the front
Did you ever do the brake upgrade?
ok so my stock 15" will do the job! Cool
