    Default Harmonic Balancer Removal :(

My CAS sensor apparantly died on me a few days back. Had Lube Mobile come and attempt to remove the Harmonic Balancer; as I simply could not!

Much to my surprise; neither could he. Breaker bar, starter motor method; and rattlegun method. The thing just won't budge.

    Oh poo.

Try to lock the wheels in gear unless it's a auto then it's a bit harder but you should be able to crack it with the starter with a good crank !!!!

Really? I've never had trouble undoing the bolt using a big arse breaker bar against the chassis rail and giving it a kick in the guts. That's the easy part.

We cranked the starter with a breaker on the nut a decent 10 times. Still didn't want to move It's persistent. Well, now it's at the workshop getting fixed; I hope to see my little jewel back in the driveway real soon.

Not to worry, no breaker bar, rattle gun or endless cranking would get mine off. Ended up heating it with an oxy until the bolt was red hot and the rubber was on fire, then splashing cold water on it. Numerous repetitions and some serious worry later, the rattle gun got it off. 15 Years of tightening certainly makes it hard. It'll come good.
