VP Calais V8 acting weird

hi all, today i removed the fuel pump relay from the vp while it was running and it kept going, i thought it was supposed to stall, then i removed the fuse and it conked out, any one know why this happened? thanks.

I could hazard a guess by suggesting that you did the right thing if you were attempting to purge the fuel system.
Usual procedure is to let the engine run without the pump relay until all the fuel is purged and the supply line is empty. You may have been too quick and removed "the fuse" before all the fuel could drain out. Maybe...
